OptiX OSN500 supports MPLS (MultiProtocol Label Switching) / MPLS-TP (MPLS-Transport Profile) / PWE3 / Ethernet / ATM technology, which can realize pure packet mode networking. OptiX OSN500 is mainly used in the access layer of the network to form an end-to-end network with Huawei OptiX OSN1500/ OSN2500/ OSN3500 series equipment, providing a complete solution from backbone layer, aggregation layer to access layer, meeting the application needs of 2G/ 3G/LTE base station backhaul and private line access of major customers.

High availability, low energy consumption, compact structure.
As the access layer equipment of OSN series products, OptiX OSN500 has the characteristics of high availability, low energy consumption, compact structure, and so on.
Support Tunnel APS, PW APS, MRPS, MSTP, ERPS, LAG, LPT, ML-PPP, LMSP, and other network-level protection to improve the reliability of the equipment.
The maximum power consumption is 100W and the typical power consumption is only 35W.
Compact structure, high integration, box size is only 442mm (wide) × 220mm (deep) × 44mm (high), support cabinets (including ETSI cabinets, and 19-inch cabinets), wall mount, desktop, open rack, and other installation methods.

Pure packet architecture, multi-service consideration.
The OptiX OSN500 device supports the service bearer mode of the packet domain. The scheme can be evolved according to the service changes produced by the wireless mobile network evolution, which can meet not only the transmission requirements of the current 2G/3G network but also the transmission requirements of the future LTE and 4G networks. Support the access and transmission of ATM/Ethernet/MPLS/MPLS-TP services to meet multi-service applications.

Basic networking types.
Huawei OSN500 equipment supports chain, ring, ring tangent, ring chain, and other networking forms.
Huawei OSN500 devices support configurations of TM (Terminal Multiplexer), ADM (Add/Drop Multiplexer), MADM (Multiple Add-Drop Multiplexer) network element types, and their hybrid configurations.
Huawei OSN500 devices support a variety of topology networking methods and can be docked with other Huawei OSN series devices, DWDM series devices, and Metro series devices to build a complete transmission network solution.

Service type.
3G IP base stations are uplink to OSN500 devices in FE mode, then encapsulated into PWE3, and converged to OptiX OSN3500/ using end-to-end PWE3.
The LTE base station is connected to the OSN500 device by GE, then encapsulated into the PWE3, and converged to the OptiX OSN3500/OSN7500 using the end-to-end PWE3.
2G base stations are connected to OSN500 devices in TDM E1/T1 mode, 3G ATM base stations are connected to OSN500 devices in ATM/IMA E1 mode, and then encapsulated into PWE3, and end-to-end PWE3 is used to converge to OptiX OSN3500/OSN7500.

Hierarchical OAM.
OSN500 devices support rich hierarchical OAM functions, have operation and maintenance capabilities similar to SDH, and can achieve rapid fault detection and location at all levels.
OSN500 equipment supports ETH OAM, MPLS Tunnel/PW OAM, and MPLS-TP Tunnel/PW OAM, to form hierarchical OAM functions, which improves the maintenance means of a packet network and improves the efficiency of operation and maintenance. The specific application of each level of OAM.
